(no subject)
I had been warned that in the second week of NaNoWriMo, encouragement by friends would be the only thing keeping me from quitting. Thankfully, it hasn't been so. I'm still ahead of where I'd be if I entered 1,667 words each day, and I never find myself at a loss for words for more than about a minute, even now that I've gone far beyond my October planning.
The real problem? Nearly halfway to the required 50,000 words, I still haven't established the main conflict. I've indicated that all is not well, but I haven't decided why exactly. Will I end up bluffing my way thru the rest of the book? I never intended for it to be publishable, but I would like it to be presentable to my family at least. I'm already pushing it with regard to entertainment value.
When I've become a "winner," what happens next? Will I be driven to edit my opus, or will I put that project on hold forever? I'll certainly feel like putting the novel aside for at least a month.
