(no subject)
It was less than a month after my latest move that my sister, under my inspiration, moved out of our parents' house and into a group house in the extended so-called Capitol Hill area. I am not too surprised that she took at least twice as much stuff as I did, even moving into a smaller space. She does have some spillover space, but she has to be careful, because it's shared with an energetic golden doodle (dog) about my size. The move, unlike mine, took only one trip for each of two vehicles, thanks to a minivan rental and the fact that she wasn't bringing a bed.
I prefer my place, but there is one thing to envy about her bedroom: the skylight. On a sunny day, the room is as bright as if it had ceiling lights on.
My dad and I arrived for moving things in earlier than my mom and sister, who were waiting in a line for a relevant service I'm not remembering at the moment. My point is, he and I did the most of the lugging. It wasn't long before I doffed my jacket and got a glass of water. We also stuck around to help assemble a bookcase and set up the computer.
Here's where the surprise comes in: I didn't ache the next day.
BTW, this was on Groundhog Day. I'm so glad I didn't go into a time loop for that activity.
