There's a banner ad for newsmax.com that says, "Pick McCain's V.P." Um, isn't it a bit early for that? I mean, how about a running mate first?

Anyway, today I finally got around to attaching the cable to my TV. I needed to buy an extension cord and coupler first. And might I say, electrical engineers should not rely on themselves to design the packaging. I understand they don't want people stealing the stuff, but putting a coupler in a package that could hold more than a hundred couplers is wasteful. They didn't need to have a separate compartment for the warranty, either; I'm guessing that that was for aesthetic purposes.

More annoying is the difficulty in getting the thing out. All that awkward scissor use... it's as if they never intended for it to come out. Actually, maybe it's not just thief-proofing. Maybe they want to discourage people from returning the product by making it difficult to put back in its original packaging as required. If so, I say that they can do to themselves what I did to the coupler and the ends of the wires.
