450: The amount, in hundreds of thousands of dollars, Pepco will save by replacing mercury vapor lights with sodium fixtures in Montgomery and Prince George's counties.

What a confusing choice of words. Do they mean $450,000, in which case they should have deleted "hundreds of"? Or do they mean $45,000,000, in which case it would have been simpler to say, "45: The amount, in millions..."?

On another subject, I just checked IMDb trivia about some of the Batman movies. I was wrong about the Lamborghini referenced in the Dark Knight trailer being a Murciélago, tho Bruce Wayne did drive one in Batman Begins. This one is a Reventón, Spanish for "explosion." Ironically, it's not one of the vehicles that explodes in the movie.

I expect to type a blue (black?) streak about Batman later, mostly behind an LJ cut, but more for length than for spoilers.

I never did like those numbers things that got posted in the newspapers, someone often cooked the books to make the numbers look bigger, or they got the statistics from dubious sources.

At least this particular point isn't so controversial. What matters to Pepco is that it profits.

If sodium lights are more efficient and sodium is more enviromentally friendly than mecury vapor, why isn't anyone puttin' out sodium lights that screw into standard sockets?
