(no subject)
I considered skipping yesterday's Theology on Tap. The last three had been boring, or at least hard to remember later. And I wasn't in the mood for another experiment with alcohol or Irish pub food.
But I'm glad I went. The speaker was a petite yet spunky nun who got us to laugh several times. She kept the talk relatively short and responded well to what I thought were dull audience questions. She even retained as much energy at the end as at the beginning, using her hands almost as if simultaneously translating to a sign language. (At least, I don't think it was a real sign language.) I also took the occasion to buy a past ToT CD with an unusually humorous focus.
Furthermore, I'm glad I walked the length of a couple metro stops to get there and back. Exercise aside, I've discovered that the route is excellent for meeting cats. Last week I met three, two of whom were too nervous to let me pet them. I met three again last night, and they were all friendly. Maybe my reputation precedes me. :)
