deckardcanineThe phone repairer came at 5:59 PM by my clock and fixed it around 7. Since I couldn't leave for a pay phone before he arrived, I made and received no business calls during the day.
Fortunately, both of the companies I know to have taken interest in me were still interested today. Editech asked me questions that made it sound likely I would get hired for one job or another, and Health Systems Research is in the process of checking references. My main reservation on the latter is that one of my references worked there and left within a year because he found the editorial director insufferably critical. But since I did not meet that director when I came for the interview, it's likely I'd have another supervisor.
So this was a pretty nice day for me. The only slight bummer is that I never wrote an LJ entry for Rabbit Hole Day like the Kinky Turtle had suggested and masterfully done. (Rabbit Hole Day, in honor of Lewis Carroll's birthday, involves pretending that you come from the Rabbit Hole and writing a bizarre entry.) I suppose I could celebrate belatedly; getting started is the hardest part.
