My Sonicare toothbrush's permanent rechargeable battery died a few weeks back. When I went to CVS for a replacement, the apparent same model had a price of $160. Next to it was the CVS brand at $50. I chose the latter, making sure to save things in case I had to return it.

So far, it works at least as well as the Sonicare model and offers fancier options. Can the lack of advertising for the store brand make that big a difference in price?

Let's just hope the battery comes close in lifespan.
