My landlords have returned -- from France, not Wales (change of mind) -- with some bad news. In their two weeks in my absence, they decided not to renew my monthly rent. I have until the end of September to move out. This includes 10 days when I'm away on vacation.

It's not really a surprise. In one of my tenser moments this month, I had declared that my next home would be a single apartment. These people are probably not unreasonable in their demands of renters, but it was still stressing me out. I blame my laziness and absent-mindedness. Perhaps part of the problem is that we haven't done much by way of bonding, due to a combination of age differential and little time on their hands. As a result, I'm more likely to see their presence as an inconvenience and, I'm sure, vice versa.

This may be a change for the better, like when I lost my internship at ASM. I don't know how long I'd've stayed here due to lack of initiative in looking for another place. It's just a shame this is happening so soon after I formally filed a change of address. If I don't find an affordable place with an acceptable commute soon, I'll just move back to my parents for a while.

I'll have to say goodbye to Azazel and Gustav.
