This month saw the return of audioconference transcripts for me to edit. It had been quite a while, but the memories rush back to me. These assignments mix fun and aggravation more than any other task I get from this company. Fortunately, they have lax deadlines, because "nobody really" looks at them.

I still haven't figured out whether the initial transcripts are written by a human or a machine. I suspect both in parts, because I encounter a lot of errors that seemingly no human could make and others that seemingly no machine could make. If I ever meet someone who transcribes "tap" as "at that point," I will walk briskly out of the room.

At the moment, I can't think of many particularly funny errors, but there is this one: "intensive care" becomes "insensitive care." (A hospital lacks it and that's bad?)
