(no subject)

To settle the matter of whether to partake in NaNoWriMo, I flipped a coin... in my head. I considered flipping one for real, but sometimes a thought experiment is better than leaving the decision to the Powers That Be. The trick for mental coin flips is to imagine each outcome. If one leaves you wanting to flip again, choose the other. It may sound silly, but it can be useful for realizing that what you thought was a toss-up for you really wasn't deep down.

Result: I'm signing up. It'll get my creative juices flowing in a medium I've put off too long. It'll add industrious intensity to my laid-back life. At worst, I'll just have a bad month for "Downscale" with little to show for it. At best, people will enjoy the eventual novel.

For now, the hard part will be to restrain myself from jumping the gun. The ideas bubbling in my head are ready to spill out my ears.
