Yesterday, for probably the first time in my life, I got a rave review from my dentist. No new advice. If I just keep taking my teeth as seriously as I have for the past six months or so, he expects they'll be just as good when I'm 75. I'm astonished.
I had to wear shades because of the overhead lamp. This has been the case many times before, but only today did it occur to me that I've never seen shades in a fictional depiction of a dentist's office. I mentioned that to the hygienist. She said that newer OSHA guidelines require that patients wear glasses in case of sprays, but most offices don't provide shaded glasses. Guess their lights aren't as bright, or else they use something more focused like a flashlight. In any case, screenwriters will eventually have to catch up to the newer reality.
