I just attended a co-worker's farewell party. There were two same-size cakes, one chocolate and one strawberry. The strawberry cake was disappearing much faster. And the party, like the office in general, was mostly women.

Another stereotype bites the dust. Or the cake crumbs.

My first freelance transcription client showed me a community listserv ad from someone else in need. The subject is less serious than the previous one (speech devices for little kids) but potentially interesting: a 45-minute biographical interview with rock singer/bassist Andrew Duplantis. Probably the most famous musician he's worked with is Alejandro Escovedo. The other bands and individuals he's mentioned so far don't ring a bell.

EDIT: There's a bigger name involved. Duplantis has been a bassist for Son Volt.
