Surprise: I'm typing from my new MacBook Pro! Hannah at the Apple Store's Genius Bar may have worn ripped jeans, but her behavior was entirely professional, so I trusted her judgment. Still holding onto the old Dell just in case. More to come on this adventure.
In other customer service news, when I shopped at Giant today, I got an automatic coupon that had nothing to do with my prior purchases: Pampers. The clerk congratulated me until I said I had no baby; then she laughed and suggested that the machine knew something I didn't. I decided not to tell her how impossible that was. Let her have her fun.
EDIT: Well, so far the most frustrating thing about this Mac is that it refuses to open anything downloaded from an unfamiliar source, even when the item is allegedly compatible with OS X. If I can't use FileZilla, then how will I update "Downscale" except via the PC?
