Gators and Crocs
If you can’t tell a croc from a gator,
You can start with the shape of the snout.
The former’s is pointed and V-shaped,
While the latter’s is rather spread out.
What’s more, only gators can cover
All their teeth when their mouths are quite closed.
Because of crocs’ upper jaw smallness,
Some low teeth are always exposed.
And only the U.S. and China
Are gator-kind’s natural homes.
The crocs live all over the world
And favor the saltwater foams.
The gators are normally darker
And faster on water and land,
But crocs will grow up to be bigger
And keener to bite off your hand.
I’m sure they are different in more ways,
But other than those, I don’t care.
I’ll keep a good distance from both beasts.
They give me enough of a scare.
