Netiquette tip

I still see many people link to a YouTube video and then tell us to skip to a certain time. I like to assume they're not lazy but uninformed. Here's how you can show better chops:

1. Pause the video at the point when you want viewers to begin. Technically, this step is optional, but you have to be quick otherwise.

2. Right-click on the video window.

3. Select "Copy video URL at current time."

4. For best results, test your own link (a good practice for all URLs, really). It may not start exactly when you wanted.

5. If you want to move the starting time forward or backward, an alternative method of fixing the URL is to change the number directly before "s," which indicates the number of seconds in.

Lately I've wondered whether soap bubbles ever froze in natural outdoor cold. This video presents a long demonstration that I have curtailed. The video's default URL ends right before "&feature."
