deckardcanineLast night, in preparation for a longish vacation, my landlady overwatered a plant. The water came thru my ceiling onto my bed, where it soaked thru all the layers down to the mattress. Good thing I had a second mattress to put up top after the dripping stopped, and good thing I got my pillow out of the way in time. To make the bed sleepable again, I had to stay up later than I expected and put off some things I'd hoped to do. But this may have been a blessing in disguise: It got me to wash the various layers, which I should do more often.
In other peculiar personal news, my mom thinks from my description that a Giant clerk flirted with me without my awareness. I'd brought four coupons, including one for Morningstar Farms products. She held out a few pages' worth of coupons and asked if I'd seen them; when I said no, she scanned one to take off another $0.50 and gave me the rest. She then noted that I got the "same" coupon automatically with my receipt. I pointed out that this one was valid only with a purchase of three products, and she correctly surmised that I wouldn't buy that many at once. Her signoff: "Enjoy your vegetarian day." I almost said "You too" before realizing I didn't know enough.
