Spring, Forward and Back
I’ve always had mixed feelings at the onset of the spring.
It sets the stage for summer, which I find a pleasant thing,
But weather gets erratic—hot one minute, cold the next.
I have to dress with caution, or I’m likely to be vexed.
For reasons I can’t fathom, it’s not half as bad in fall
(At least in my experience; I couldn’t speak for all).
As much as spring annoys me, I’m assured it could be worse:
I never get spring fever or have allergies to curse.
I’ve liked the Easter holiday and breaks I got from school.
It also is the season for my birthday, which is cool.
Of course, that means the best of spring for me comes later on.
Forget the vernal equinox; that merely is the dawn.
