(no subject)
I have my first permanent job lined up for me. Starting July 19th, I'll be a copy editor trainee for the American Society of Microbiology for $35.9K/yr. They expect me to stay at least two years after the six- to seven-month training. I expect I will.
This news merited a little family celebration. I'm especially glad because (1) the pressure's off me to job-hunt, and (2) I have more than a month before starting. (I was going to interview with Editech Services, Inc., for some temp work to tide me over, but the commute scared me away.) It's starting so late I don't have to take time off for Anthrocon, July 9-11.
My folks predicted I would never have another time like last Winter Term, spending darn long weeks with minimal responsibility. This time comes close, if not matching.
