One possible reason I don't like modern movies as often as older ones: fewer women. I never realized this, as it seems counterintuitive.

For me, the big reason is the $100,000,000 special effects budgets combined with 50 cent screenplays. I expect to have my intelligence insulted when I turn on the TV, but not when I pay for a ticket at the movies.

Yes, that's definitely another reason. Epics used to excel at everything; now it's mainly the effects.

I think its funny how Tarantino, is so desperate to add a female heroine and then make her more "appealing" by fitting a machine gun as her leg.

Gosh, wouldn't that be horrible for you hips and spine? to have a machine gun running?
