My move is complete! Well, basically. The bulk of it took maybe three hours yesterday, with the help of my parents, my sister, and my now-former landlord (we needed his Volvo to move the bed). They all agree that I made a good choice for my new place. My sister is especially envious of the patio leading to my door, which includes an excellent climbing tree -- not something I'd have thought of independently.
Every time I move, there is initially some trouble getting online. This time, I don't even know for sure what the problem was. I had assumed that my computer was simply out of range of the nearest network, possibly needing a booster. But while I and my landlady were trying to do something about that, three networks suddenly got detected without our evident assistance. The signal strength is "very low," but based on my experience in my last home, that's adequate.
Today I'll be putting nails in the walls for pictures. One downside to this place is that while there's more overall space, there's less wall space. Such is the price of more windows. Those windows also seem responsible for making me take a while to go to sleep last night: Even with the Venetian blinds closed, it's not as dark as I like. I don't believe I ever overcame that problem in college. So much for my thinking that I'd have an easier time getting up early because of the greater temperature control. Maybe I'll buy curtains to fit the already present rods.
