Most Express poll results don't surprise me. The latest alarms me:

Do you favor seeking the death penalty for suspected 9/11 plotters?
No: 51%
Yes: 49%

In a predominantly liberal city, I don't expect that kind of evenness. But never mind the controversy of the death penalty in general -- did 49% of the readers miss the keyword "suspected"?

I will say, if anyone deserves the death penalty, convicted high-level 9/11 plotters do. I have no sympathy whatsoever for members of al Qaida, they are the worst kind of murderers.

I'm not quite that far gone off the right wing. :)

And I've got not real beef with people who are opposed to the death penalty in all circumstances, just those who think al Qaida deserves mercy and right-wing murderers don't.
