Know what's one expression I believe, and hope, will become an archaism in the next half-century?
"Doctor's orders."
Doctors are specialists. They advise. They prescribe. But they do not wield so much authority that they can "order" us to do anything. It's not like your physician can have you punished for cheating on your diet (not legally and openly, anyway).
The sooner doctors lose their reputed air of superiority, the better things will be for themselves as well as the patients.
