I've arranged, with my landlady's permission, to get a cat for my apartment, tentatively next Saturday. He's a one-year-old shorthair, mostly black with some white fur, apparently once abandoned. He doesn't get along with the other cats in his current living situation, but he does like humans. What's not clear is how well he'll take to staying indoors at all times. I'll just have to find out.

I met him and his current owner today. He was too sleepy to show much personality, but he liked a nice chin scratch. She calls him Brutus Maximus, but I intend to come up with another name.

I actually like Brutus Maximus. It's got sort of a Gladiator type feel to it. Of course, if the cat doesn't look like a gladiatorial cat, maybe not.
