I've seen this error enough times, even from people with English as a first language, that I feel a need to state the correction here:

Your ancestors are your relatives who came before you, like great-great-grandparents. The term is best used for those who are long dead.

Relatives who will come after you, like great-great-grandchildren, are descendants. This should not be hard to remember.
