I'm running out of patience trying to get my CanoScan LiDE 60 to work with my Vista-bearing Dell Inspiron. Every time I try to scan, I get "Unable to open TWAIN source." My preliminary online research suggested that the problem was driver duplicity -- that I had to remove either ScanGear or WIA. But the simple suggestions I followed didn't work, and the other advice I can find is both complicated (some having more steps than seems necessary) and written with other machines in mind. The last several "Downscale" episodes were scanned to my old computer and transferred via flash drive.
I really don't want to call customer support about this. Any other ideas, or should I buy a new scanner?
