People are turning violent over the "Slumdog" title.

Apparently, oversensitivity is thriving in India just as in the West. I take it that these protesters have never seen the movie in question and fail to realize that the slur does not reflect Boyle's personal opinion. Reminds me of those who object to The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn because they think it's racist.

Tateshwar Vishwakarma is an attention whore. Protests of this nature do nothing to help the people he claims to represent.

One thing to consider is that "dog" is a far worse insult in the Mideast than it is here, it's more like a swear word over there.

I suspected as much, just as the bottom of one's shoe is more of an insult in Iraq.
