Just finished transcribing the latest interview in freelancing. I didn't plan it this way, but between my rate and the length of the interviews, I'm charging $144 this time.

Mom thinks I may be charging too little. Perhaps I'm gross-ly underpriced.

Maybe you should charge by the recorded minute?

That is what I do. To charge by minute of work would give me an incentive to take longer. And to charge by line or page would give me an incentive to divide paragraphs, increase spacing, and write every stutter. There's no argument over audio minutes.
