As of today, I am 27. Rock music buffs may get nervous when that happens, given the lifespans of Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin among others. But I am not that big on music. I'm big on classic movies, regardless of decade.
As a result, I thought instead of Seven Chances, in which Buster Keaton's character stands to inherit a much-needed $7 million on the condition that he be married by 7 PM on his 27th birthday, which just so happens to be the day he finds out. He proposes awkwardly to his crush, who then rejects him because she thinks he just wants the money. When she finds compelling evidence of his true feelings, she has to reach him before 7 or before he finds another taker, whichever comes first.
Now, I'm not up to my ears in debt, I don't have a crush I've been meaning to declare my love to, and none of my relatives has that much money or that much concern about my marital status. But none of that stops me from thinking about it.

27 is a pretty good age to be, plenty of freedom and enough wisdom not to squander it. Just watch out when you get near 40 like me, the warranties on the parts start to expire.
