Ten things I enjoy that start with L:

Little Dee -- In this webcomic, a lost little girl now lives in the woods with a bear, a vulture, and a runaway dog. Every character to have appeared yet is pretty cute, even the usually nasty vulture. I don’t always like the serious (or would-be serious) turns the comic takes, but it’s frequently clever, and the arcs are never too long.

La Lomita -- A Mexican restaurant in the vicinity of my sister’s Capitol Hill home. I’ve eaten more often at a location called La Lomita Dos, but that’s changed hands and name. I first went to the original place a couple months ago and found it to be just as good. At no other restaurant am I quite so likely to make a pig of myself.

Levante’s -- A convenient restaurant to my workplace. This one is Greek, and I know of no better place to get a “pizza boat” or even a veggie sandwich.

Labyrinth -- A defining fantasy movie for my generation, even tho I was too young when it came out. By my count, I’ve seen it five times since I hit double digits. The last time wasn’t so hot, but I’ll probably see it again in a decade or so. My sister seems to like it at least as much as I do. Too bad The Dark Crystal and Mirrormask didn’t live up to it in my estimation.

Lego -- It’s been years since I touched them, but you can bet I will again someday. Few things warm my heart as readily as the sight of those plastic blocks. I often stop at a local toy store just to see if there are any new Lego systems. Alas, the new ones have a different attitude from the ones I grew up with: even when not based on an outside franchise, they provide some semblance of plot. I always preferred a bit of mix and match, customizing Legoland to myself and (usually) my sister.

Los Lonely Boys -- I’m not big on music, especially from the last decade, but everything I’ve heard from this band sounds good to me. I haven’t even gotten tired of “Heaven” yet.

Liar Liar -- You might think that such a fundamentally flawed, one-note what-if Jim Carrey comedy wouldn’t have much of a place in my heart. Instead, it’s probably one of my ten favorite film comedies ever. Someday I expect to see it for the fourth time.

Lewis, C.S. -- A big factor in my conversion, and always an engaging read. I’ve enjoyed several of his nonfiction works, but The Screwtape Letters and The Great Divorce are my real faves. Somehow I haven’t gotten around to most of Narnia yet.

Link/Legend of Zelda series, the -- A Link to the Past was nice, but it took the transition to 3D to make me a real fan. Not only did the graphics get excellent, but I finally felt like I was Link. And there are few game characters I’d rather “be.” Even in the Super Smash Bros. series, where neither his teen version nor his child version makes the top tier, I can’t help liking him.

Lord, the -- Here’s my affirmation of continued faith. He’s done so much for me already, and I hope to join His kingdom someday.

I'd like one (though it may be a while before I manage to post it, um - for future reference?).
