Today's poem is based on an early "Kevin & Kell" arc, but it doesn't really spoil anything. It just sets up a character relationship that continues to this day. I considered focusing on the title couple, but there have already been enough summaries to that effect. Besides, I think my mom likes these two better.
There once was an English-born hedgehog
Who lived in a town called Domain.
She had trouble establishing friendships
Because of her quills causing pain.
It sure didn’t help when she stumbled
Or otherwise faltered in poise.
By high school she had some companions
But had given up looking for boys.
Then one day a quill stuck a stranger
Who felt it as love at first prick.
He followed her first at a distance,
But his courage emerged nice and quick.
The boy was a brown bat with glasses
And clumsier even than she,
Until he convinced her to join him
In dancing while airborne with glee.
The Valentine’s dance was a fun one.
He’d won her heart swiftly as that.
Thus began the adorable romance
Of a wonderful hedgehog and bat.
