It has come to my attention that of the three best-known actors surnamed "Keaton" -- Buster, Michael, and Diane -- only Buster had it as a real last name. And "Buster" was not his real first name.

It occurs to me that "keaton" is also an Anglicization of "kitsune," the Japanese spirit fox known for disguising itself....

"Keaton" is not related to Kitsune in the slightest, except in the mind of some linguistic illiterate at Zelda & Co. If there is any relationship between the two words, it is artificial and of recent date.

It's also been used by Sega to describe Tails, probably sooner than any Zelda game mentioned the term.
