(no subject)
Several people on LJ have waxed poetic or turned to music in honor of Thanksgiving. Well, here's a little parody for afterward that I cooked up months ago and am now, er, reheating:
Mama, this tryptophan...
All the turkey I was fed
Had me snoring in my bed.
Mama, the night had just begun,
But now I've gone and snoozed it all away.
Mama, oo-oooooooooooooooh,
Didn't mean to make you sigh.
If I'm not out of bed this time tomorrow,
Carry on; carry on,
As if nothing really matters.
(I happened to see the Muppet version on YouTube shortly before Thanksgiving, but I didn't even need the reminder.)
I sang my version on an evening walk last night, tho I hadn't had any tryptophan and wasn't tired yet. My mom was impressed at the high notes I could hit without going into falsetto. Somehow I do better at that when I imitate somebody.
