(no subject)
The incredibly (perhaps suspiciously) generous Netflix just got even more so. First they let us rent up to nine discs a month for nine bucks a month on the basic plan. Then they offer us an increasing number of movies and TV shows online, letting us watch as many as time allows for no extra charge. Now they're giving free, not-to-return discs that let you watch the same stuff via the Wii.
I tried it out last night. It loads just as quickly and runs just as smoothly, with just as likable an interface. My TV, of course, is bigger than my monitor and offers sharper images. It never threatens to go black due to cursor inactivity. And the way my suite is set up, I have an easier time checking the clock while viewing this way.
The only trouble is that I can't tell it which programs will never interest me. If I want to take them off the list without rating them, I have to use the computer. But that's no big deal. I already have more than 30 streaming programs waiting in my queue.
I'll find out later whether the Wii can easily pick up where I left off in the middle.
