My principal field for trivia is entertainment. My mom used to remark how I could remember the names of characters in a work of fiction I saw once but not the names of classmates who sat next to me in homeroom for three years (and still did at the time of her remark). I've gotten better at remembering real people, but my trivia memory continues to amaze.

Lately I amazed myself. I've been reading Dune, in which rhythmic devices called thumpers serve to attract and thereby distract giant sandworms. Immediately I thought of Think Quick!, an Apple II game with the same premise, tho nothing else readily in common with Dune. I hadn't seen or heard about the game since I was 7, and I didn't play it very much back then. I doubt I even gave it any thought in the 23 years since, until now. And that's hardly the only detail I remember either.

It was a good game for the late '80s, BTW. If you were 7 to 14.
