(no subject)
My office computer's network interface card died between last night and this morning. Fortunately, there were no assignments waiting for me when I logged onto a laptop a couple hours into the workday. I did get one later and relearned how much more trouble I have with laptop keyboards. At least it had a mouse.
As it happens, I'd been scheduled to get a new CPU, monitor, and mouse (but not new speakers) in about a week; this event just pushed it ahead to this afternoon. And how do I like the new equipment? Well, the keyboard and mouse are fresher versions of the same models, and the CPU appears to be faster.
But I'm reserving judgment on the monitor, because it's the largest one I've ever seen, especially in width. As I type this, the entire LJ text box fits on the left half of the screen. I may remind myself how to zoom in (for everything, not just individual sites and Word docs), but the screen will still threaten to overwhelm me.
I'm trying to enjoy it.
