I've come to realize that one of my worst subjects for taste is the appearance of cars. I can appreciate good-looking ones, but automobile ugliness largely escapes me when it's not something obviously fuel-inefficient like a hummer limo.
See this article? It's not the first time someone's called cars hideous when several of them don't stand out to me. Even the notorious Edsel doesn't seem worth the energy to deride.
Maybe I'm just in the habit of seeing machines as purely pragmatic.

I'll take practicality over beauty any day where cars are concerned. My Honda Civic looks boring, but I survived a 30MPH collision from behind with no personal injury and no car damage except a destroyed bumper, so I love it anyway.
