My family's annual tradition of visiting my grandparents' graves falls on September 12 this year.

Only now that I've looked at the calendar page do I notice that that's Grandparents Day. It may be the first one that any of us has ever really observed.

I'm sure nobody planned the visit that way. Nobody under Heaven, anyway.

Visiting graves is very valuable, it gives you quiet time to remember that you can't really get anywhere else.
