Second opinion time: Is it possible to "exploit" oneself? I've seen more than one source use the word that way, but it seems paradoxical when I think about it.

I believe the protagonist in "Memento" did that toward the end of the movie.

It does seem possible to be aware of your own weaknesses and take advantage of them, perhaps an ADD person walking away from his homework to play video games, knowing that by the time he's done playing, he won't have time to finish the homework.

In most contexts I've seen, those who claim to exploit themselves are being attention whores.

Probably true, but I do think it's possible for someone to exploit his or her own weaknesses.

What an odd thing to do.

Hmm, it's certainly possible to exploit your situation, or how people react to you, but... I dunno.
