deckardcanineIs it just me, or has 2011 been a subpar year for animated films? The most popular I can think of is Kung Fu Panda 2, which I haven't seen yet. Meanwhile, the Academy Best Animated Feature winner (Happy Feet) and prime runner-up (Cars) from 2006 both have had underwhelming sequels this year. Rio is above average for Blue Sky but still an unlikely pick. Puss in Boots is mainly just cute. I know of nothing from foreign studios coming out before 2012.
If Europeans' sentiment is anything to go by, The Adventures of Tintin should have very little award competition.
