It had been a while since I last experimented with an unusual food combo (probably none of you remember my cinnamon shrimp ramen). Tonight I was kinda forced into it when I cooked linguini and discovered that I'd neglected to put tomato sauce on the shopping list in time. The only condiment I considered substituting was salsa, and I've done that before with not-so-hot, or perhaps too hot, results. So I put a can's worth of vegetarian chili in the microwave and poured it all over the linguini.
Verdict: Not bad, but I'll use tomato sauce next time. This recipe was very filling; it's unusual for me not to want dessert by this time of night.
