This Friday, I and my family will head for a Galapagos cruise, leaving me probably without computer access until July 9. It'll be our first time in South America and, for all but my sister, our first time anywhere besides North America and Europe. Yes, we're a little too late to meet Lonesome George, much to my sister's dismay.
Looks like we're leaving D.C. just in time: Highs for the next three days are in the triple digits Fahrenheit (high 30s Celsius) with rain. By contrast, the Galapagos will be in the low 80s F (high 20s C) and low on humidity. And here I'd been worried at the thought of being on the equator. Tho it occurred to me later that latitude variations within the tropics must not mean much, with roughly equal perennial sunlight, and we've already been to the tropics a few times.
My main worry is that I'll forget something important before leaving. Not sure why this worries me more than usual.
