For the first time this summer, I have bug bites. OK, I probably got some more than a week ago from my parents' garden, but those were minor enough to disregard. I have not spent any extra time outdoors in the last week, nor have I been near the garden again.

My crack theory: soda. Early this week, I accepted five cans of Sprite leftover from my dad's birthday party. I rarely drink soda anymore, yet now I was having a can a day. Maybe it sweetened me to attract biters.

I have either heard or read (heard, I think) that consuming lots of sugar sugar *does* make you more attractive to mosquitoes, and that eating lots of spicy food makes you less so.
