In my first year of making "Downscale," I tried and failed to make the site better than minimalist. This week I finally mustered the initiative to try again -- with success! I've been altering the site little by little each day since Monday. Seems it was worth saving the background I designed about six years ago!
The present site satisfies me almost completely. If only I knew how to center the calendar. I think I'll move the directional buttons up above the comic, simply because the strips come in slightly different heights and I'd rather not have to move the cursor around to zip thru the archives. Someone suggested making the strip itself function as a "next" button, but that's rare among webcomics and probably impossible with Comic Genesis.
