Still looking for shared housing, but now I've decided to consider places where I'd be the only male. Unfortunately, many otherwise promising ads say they want a professional female. I'm pretty feminine for a straight guy, but I couldn't pass for a professional at it.

But here's a segment that really cooks my noodle: "...male, female, straight, or gay." If you know a bit about grammar structure, you understand my amusement.

LOL!!! ^^ But I don't quite get it. What are the ads actually asking for? Unless it's a request for [no I'm not even going to go there].

I'm sure they mean a female professional. Someone with a full-time, long-term occupation who happens to be a woman.

But your implied interpretation, which didn't even occur to me, does add to the amusement. :)
