Thanks for the meme, Octan
The poem meme simply asks (not bindingly, in my book) that readers post a poem in their LJs. I like a good lot of poetry, and this isn't time consuming, so why not?
With other LJers citing other people's poems, I decided it would look vain for me to post one of my own poems on this occasion. I was going to post Paul Beatty's "That's Not in My Job Description," but it relies on spacing too much for an LJ entry. Instead, you'll probably all appreciate this unadulterated piece from Emily D.:
Much Madness is divinest Sense --
To a discerning Eye --
Much Sense -- the starkest Madness --
'Tis the Majority
In this, as All, prevail --
Assent -- and you are sane --
Demur -- you're straightway dangerous --
And handled with a Chain --
