You’ve heard the old song known as “Streets of Laredo”?
Alas, the composer, whoever he be,
Did not set the syllables using solfeggio’s
“La,” “re,” and “do” quite appropriately.

Of course, when you think of the cowboy lamenting
His imminent death from a shot to the chest,
It’s rather impressive he sang all those lyrics;
What more could I hope when he’s not at his best?
