Most languages agree that felines pretty much “meow,”
But other noises vary. For example, dogs say “guau”
In Spanish; in Romanian, it’s “ham”; in Farsi, “haap,”
While Swedish horses utter “gnägg” and Danish ducks go “rap.”
The mice go “chuu” in Japanese, and German bees go “sum.”
Korean roosters “ko-ki-oh,” and Polish frogs “kum kum.”
A bird in Greek may “tsiou-tsiou,” and a pig in Dutch may “knor.”
I’m stopping for the night, but I could cite you many more.
