In response to the Kinky Turtle's challenge of writing a Shakespearean sonnet about fish:

In Carroll’s Alice Through the Looking Glass,
The poems all have piscine themes in part.
Dear Alice deems them silly, getting crass,
But I believe that fish are good for art.
Just study oceanography a while,
And you’ll discover wildlife most divine.
The archerfish, for instance, hunts in style,
And flying fish transcend their homely brine.
If you prefer aquatic life bizarre,
The glowfish may be apt to light your fire,
And even monstrous critters like the gar
Enjoy a dark charisma I admire.
So please don’t scorn the creatures of the ocean:
A fish, my friend, is poetry in motion.
