Just now I was reading about the New Testament. In one instance, the U in "Luke" was replaced with an I.

The Gospel of Like... would be modernized translation gone nightmarishly far.

Totally.

The Islamic version of Lot is sometimes transliterated "Lout" -- which could lend itself to its own bits of amusement. (And pieces of clay pots rained down on Sodom and Gomorrah, but it's OK -- the Lout was not potted after all.)
