For the most part, I've stopped caring about "The Simpsons." I'm not likely to see the movie, unless people say it evokes the show's heyday.

But when my paper described Bart as a "toon teen," I got curious. Did they make a mistake, or has Bart reached 13 in the canon? I remember when he turned 10, and some characters have aged more than once, but not enough that they ought to look significantly different. Heck, he's still not half his dad's height.

...Aaaand thesimpsons.com tells me he's still 10. The makers still have that much dignity. Next time, journalists, try "toon tween."

My interest has slowly waned over the years, the show's just not very funny anymore, and there's not much new territory left to explore.

The show's writers certainly seem to wish he were a teen, at any rate. And writing episodes accordingly.
